Suzuki: Kizashi sedan not delayed, on schedule for New York debut

Yesterday reports emerged that the global financial downturn was forcing Suzuki to postpone its plans to launch its new Kizashi sedan next year, as well as to delay construction on new overseas factories in Thailand and Russia. The news came from Japan’s Nikkei daily and followed similar announcements from a slew of carmakers as the market continues to remain stagnant. Today, however, the information was denied by Suzuki, and the company says it is still planning on unveiling the car at this year’s New York Auto Show in April.
The Kizashi is the most recent of a trio of concepts, and is also the most likely to head to production.
